Plain Label Podcast Episode 1 - Romantic Comedies Part 1

Text Description

Welcome to the Plain Label Podcast! In our first episode, Eric and Rachel dive into the rarest of all films, the good romantic comedy with the 1997 film Chasing Amy written and directed by Kevin Smith. Eric explains why the film has a special place in his heart with an embarrassing story of attempted humor, before getting into a discussion about the film being the only quality movie to come from Kevin Smith. The hosts then move on to Joey Lauren Adams, the female lead of the film, and why her performance is the most important performance of the film. They then discuss the ending of the film before moving on to the 1989 classic film When Harry Met Sally… where the hosts talk about how each of them came to this classic late, and how it’s easily one of the best romantic comedies of all time mainly due to the script and performances. They wrap up the show with a discussion on the Top 25 of IMDb’s 250 and discuss if it’s a list for the greatest movie of all time, or your personal favorite movie of all time. They then briefly discuss the films, The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather Part 2, Crash, Pulp Fiction, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Schindler’s List, Rear Window, Cloverfield, Jaws, and Rachel talks about why The Usual Suspects is better than Pulp Fiction.
