Welcome back to another episode of the Plain Label Podcast! In this episode we talk about the Christopher Nolan Batman Trilogy! Eric and Rachel begin with Batman Begins and discuss how refreshing Nolan’s take on the super-hero is. The realism is discussed as is the musical score which Eric loves! They then talk about the career of Nolan and Christian Bale a bit before diving into what works and what doesn’t work with the first of these films.
Moving into The Dark Knight, the hosts talk about Heath Ledger’s performance and how it’s fantastic, but it may distract from the actual film. The voice of Batman is briefly discussed as is the changing character of Rachel Dawes. The hosts bring up and discuss Harvey Dent’s character and if it should have been included in the film and how they might have changed it, if they were the director of the film.
Finally they move into the final film, The Dark Knight rises where they are in total agreement that this film was outstanding. They rave about the story, the ending, the new characters as portrayed by Tom Hardy (Bane), Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (John Blake) and Marion Cotillard (Miranda Tate). They discuss the ending of the film at length and talk about what they fell for and what they had figured out from the start. It’s another thrilling episode of Plain Label Podcast!
